Welcome to our website for Altrusa International Inc. of Dallas, Texas! We are an organization of professional women from all areas of business dedicated to service in our community of Dallas, Texas. Our many projects include working with City Park Elementary School, LeTot, Vogel Alcove and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Our interests include donations for the Dallas police department, the Early Class which is a pre-school program for children with autism spectrum disorders, and various literacy projects. The Altrusa Club of Dallas Foundation provides annual scholarships to students pursuing studies in Nursing, Legal, and Pharmaceutical areas as well as donations to support various crime prevention initiatives.

My theme for this club year (2010-2011) is “Reach for the Stars”! Each of us should reach for the stars and become more than we dreamed possible and in doing so become examples and helpmates to those around us to encourage them to do the same. Some of my key projects and goals for this year are:

• ASTRA Club at Marsh Middle School - This is the ASTRA Club’s 10th anniversary so what better time to refresh and revive it.
• Social Skills Saturday luncheon event for the benefit of the students at City Park Elementary School
• Written “job descriptions” for each one of the club’s positions and officers
• Membership Challenge – Each member to bring at least one prospective member to a meeting with an additional goal of increasing our membership to the 40+ range.
• Club Communications: Bring the membership forward to make the best of our new internet-based communications.
• Second major fundraiser to complement the annual fall Glitterati holiday boutique

I look forward with great excitement and anticipation to working with each of you.
